Dongfeng Tianlong KL successfully passed the line up test of the unmanned trucks
On May 7, 2019, China held the first large-scale commercial vehicle racing follow-up test. Dongfeng Tianlong KL successfully passed the test of the unmanned trucks( Howo parts, Sinotruk spare parts ).
Under the influence of the “five-oriented” trend of automobiles, new technologies, new formats and new models in the field of commercial vehicles are constantly emerging, and intelligent commercial vehicles will be an inevitable trend in the future development. At the end of 2017, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Standards Commission jointly issued the "Guidelines for the Construction of Intelligent Networked Automotive Standard System", which will be the important component of the relevant standards.
The event invited Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd., Beiqi Foton, China National Heavy Duty Truck and other Chinese commercial vehicle backbone enterprises to conduct public verification, marking the entry of China's intelligent networked vehicle standard system into the high-level automatic driving field.
It is understood that the test includes three items: speeding up, speeding down, and changing lanes. The three cars form a fleet through intelligent network technology. The first car is in the manual driving mode. The rear vehicle needs to accelerate, change lanes and brake according to the preceding driving action in the automatic driving mode, while maintaining a reasonable distance throughout the journey.
Different from the traditional car closed-site test, this lined-up standard open-validation test uses open roads with a total length of 4 kilometers and two-way six lanes. The whole process includes three intersections, including ramps, corners, etc. Driving ability has a big challenge. In the three tests, Dongfeng Tianlong KL performed well and successfully completed the test.
It is reported that Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd. will continue to cooperate with the industry to establish standards and evaluation systems, further improve the key infrastructure support system( Howo parts, Sinotruk spare parts, Dongfeng parts) for electrification and intelligent network, and promote the industrialization of electrification and intelligent network technology. Mass production of L2 self-driving trucks will be completed.
